So, this idea was brought up soon after the mirc was revived and now that the release date is coming closer, I decided it should be good to bring it up again.

The idea is to
~*~WATCH MÄRCHEN DVD TOGETHER WHILE DISCUSSING ON MIRC~*~

Everyone welcome, even those who have yet to visit the mirc channel!
Also if you have ideas for small games that can be do before or after the DVD, those are welcome too. It should be a small little internet event for Laurants.

As the date has been decided, and we still have some waiting to do, do tell us if you think of some games or activities before the DVD watching (as I'd assume some people don't come right on time, but earlier).
Also, I highly suggest for everyone who doesn't visit mirc often, to visit us at least once, to get past the confusion. The channel is #SoundHorizon at Rizon.


If you don't use mIRC you are of course free to use what ever IRC client you see fit. Those who don't want to download a program, there is mibbit, for example.

Aww, this sounds like so much fun! I'll be really happy if I can participate. The only times it's really impossible for me are weekend mornings, so I hope the time decided is not around then... :3

We tried to do this once, I'm pretty sure it worked really fine!
Would be really nice to do this! But the problem is the difference of time zones here.

Like, I'm at -4, the people in USA are at -5 or -6 (from the Greenwitch Time Zone). We need to discuss to find a proper time and, also, there's internet connection (here in Brazil they are pretty much... fail). Guess we can realy manage to make this work, but need a lot of discussion.

Guess we can grab all the time zones of those that are planing to joing and come up with a good time for everyone?

If the date isn't bad I'm willing to sacrifice my sleeping pattern for this, so all is fine as long as the date works for me too.

I'd say this will be held on August, maybe around week or two after the release. Of course we could wait longer, so that everyone would surely have their copy, but i don't know if anyone could hold on for that long.
Please tell the times and dates that don't suit you around that time, and remember to add your timezone.
Of course, we can't serve everyone when it comes to things like time zones, but lets try to find the best time that suits the most.

Ooh, another reason I'm glad to have pre-ordered the DVD!

I'm under EDT/UTC -4, but time shouldn't be a problem for me; I can use my days as I see fit until September. However, I might not receive the DVD as soon as everyone else since I opted to use the cheapest shipping method (1-3 weeks). Hopefully luck will see me through. Now if only I could punch the person who thought region coding was a brilliant idea...

:O Nice idea! I haven't used mirc for at least 5 years so I don't remember how to use it... guess I should start practicing again, I really want to join this.

If anything goes wrong, I'll receive my DVD on August 5th (and if something does go wrong, on the 8th), but we should definetly wait two weeks at the very least, since we (or at least I) don't know how postal service works on each country or what shipping options people chose. Maybe we should make a list with the people who's going to participate and announce here when our copies arrive?

Oh, and my time zone is UTC+2, but since I'll be on holidays until at least the second week of September, I could slightly change my sleeping hours. I can't sleep at all these days anyway so who cares 8D.

I don't know if I want to join this event, but I propose to set the time of the event to somewhere around midday in Europe on a weekend day so that everyone gets a chance to see this at a reasonable time of the day. This means it will be evening/night in Asia and morning in America.

I'd wager this is the best way to make it possible for the majority of us to participate. But of course, when we are as big a community as we are, there's no way to make the time fit for everyone. I think this should be taken into consideration.

To get this going, I propose Sunday the 31st of July as a date. How about 14:00 GMT?

Waiting for your copy first of course isn't a must, so if you are planning to download the first leaks, there's nothing stopping you from joining us on week or two after the release date, even though you don't have your copy. But of course, this depends on person to person. For example, I shall just wait and see how long I can handle the wait. I picked the best shipping option though.

As for skype, people can use the set time and date we have here and use skype instead, if they like, but as for me, I get headache from too many noises and I would like to concentrate on the music than everyone's talking. With mirc I can pick when I read what everyone has posted, and not have sudden screams when my favourite part comes.

I'll put Kris' suggestion up, it's up for discussion. Other suggestions are also welcome.

@Haikara: how about mute your skype? Then when you get new messages, there won't be any other noise. So you can concentrate on the music then check out what everyone has been talking about later.

Ah~ This is a brilliant idea. But I have to wait until mid-August to get my Blu-ray, so I wonder if I can get any leak in other to join you guys on this...
How about 7th of August to make sure everybody get their DVD?
