Below are the few rules by which any forum user should abide in order to assure harmony and good manners in the boards.

★ Respect all the users and their opinions. DO NOT use inslults or offenses, treat other people as you want them to treat you.

★ Don't make double post. If you want to add something, just edit the post.

★ Don't change the topic of a thread, be sure that what you're saying is related to the theme.

★ Try to write properly and in always english, so we can all understand you. If you have to write something in another language, please add the translation*

★ Remember that we're supporters of Sound Horizon. Insults to Sound Horizon members/related people are completely forbidden.

★ Off-topic is only allowed on its special category.

★ Don't do SPAM in any of the forum categories.

★ The maximum size for the avatar is 100x200 px

* Despite this, if you want to quote or write the lyrics of a song which is not in english and you don't have the translation, you'll be allowed to do so.

Translating stuff

We'll really appreciate if you share your translations with us. In fact, this is one of the main points of this forum. However, many people might be willing to start translating something at the same time, so please take these advices into account:

1. In order to be more organized, productive, and spare pointless loss of time to other users, we'll try to distribute translation work among the people who offer to collaborate.

2. If you want to take part in the translation of a magazine/album/etc, please check who is doing what if someone has started before you and discuss how to divide the work, in order to avoid misunderstandings and ...frustration from work done in vain.

3. Nobody will be prevented from posting a translation, but why have something done twice when each translator could be working on different stuff (= eventually get things done faster)?

These rules only apply to translations being posted here, right? What about all the material that has not been translated yet? What if someone wants to do the entire thing without distribution and collaboration? And if the translations have different styles and varying levels of accuracy?

Most of the time, only one or two people are doing them anyway, so wouldn't it be okay to just let them do their work on their own without regulating the work? It makes for more work for the admins and the mod, too, when they have other things they should be focusing on more. *_*

Then just say it. Come by and say 'Oh, I'll be doing it on my own as well, just so you know!' or 'Do you mind if I post a proofread version of your translation?', and the like. Same in the case of finding the translation somewhere else outside the forum. You come and say 'I've found that etc etc' and post it.

It's just a matter of common sense. The avobe lines on translating stuff are advices so it's not a strict rule.

They're kind of placed in the rules section so people would assume that they are strict rules to adhere to.

Also I think that people have to be cautious regarding reposting translations from outside the forums without expressly asking permission from the person who asked in the first place?

I could have said 'link to it' in the place of 'post it' perfectly. We tend to link to stuff instead of copy-paste it here, but yes of course it is not ok to post work directly here without asking for permission (I wonder why didn't I include this in the rules in the first place?)

I guess it is pretty clear that those are advices even if they are in the rules post: please take these advices into account, we'll try to distribute translation work..., please check who is doing what..., Nobody will be prevented from posting a translation, but...

There's no need to say that nobody will be warned or banned for not following those advices. This is not meant to put limits but to serve as reference for the future. I don't think it is that harmful for anyone here at all. We used to not need this kind of things in the past, but we do now. That's how things go! I'm sorry!

It's alright. It's just that there were previous instances of people translating the same thing as each other, but back then there was no intervention on anyone's behalf.

Anyway, I'm glad we cleared things up.
